Nutec is has an extremely strong chemical smell, and some people claim to get headaches from it. There has been some interest in banning it in the SuperSport classes at OMRRA and WMRRA, and I agree with the idea. Meanwhile, it does give more power, and I want to win, so I'm going to use it or some other brand.
Because the bike has been converted to a 520 chain, Gene Brown & I couldn't be sure about replacement front sprockets. I also bought a couple of different styles of Yamaha-type counter-shaft sprockets. We couldn't figure out what kind of front (counter-shaft) sprocket I would need due to the conversion from the stock chain, and access to the front sprocket on the FZR is blocked by a clutch housing. I don't even know for sure what that the front sprocket is a 14-tooth one, but I think it must be, as with a 15/41, the bike should be way, way too tall.
There was some evidence that oil was leaving the engine via the crankcase breather and getting sucked into the carburetors. I'm not yet sure what that means.
